In the Personal Life

Not that I understand why you’d want to know about a crazy person like me, but hey, I’ll humor you!

Originally, I’m from Colorado, where I was born and raised and spent the first seventeen years of my life in Aurora. I loved it there, but jumped at the chance to move somewhere new. So in August of 2001, promptly after graduating from Eaglecrest High, the gypsy in me was calling Seattle home.

The weather in Seattle is nicer in my opinion, with trees and forests enough to make a Sasquatch proud, and little pockets of cherry blossoms all over the place. It doesn’t rain as much as people constantly say (that depressed the hell out of me), but it doesn’t take much effort to find people who will still complain about it being cloudy. Having come from a sunny state, I absolutely adore the rain and overcast.

I miss a lot about Colorado—the shopping, the places, the things—but I have no immediate plans to go back for more than vacation purposes. What can I say? Between the heat and the tornadoes, I was a dizzy and nervous wreck every summer down there!

Getting back on track, Seattle is great. The job market is a royal load of crap, but you always get a good laugh when the schools and/or Boeing go on strike. They do it so often, people make bets on who will strike the longest! …I can’t remember who won the last time… >.>

Anyway, like any sensible person, I generally (-because I don’t have one at the moment :P) hold a regular, paying job on the side. My most recent place of employ had me as an assistant manager at Levis for two years. It was a nice deal. Aside from the other assistant manager that no one liked, I really loved it there. But, once a gypsy, always a gypsy. The winds of change had been blowing since March of what would be my last year there, and it was time for me to ditch the little tug boat of clothing and hop into a real career. I jumped ship, and went to school.

What am I doing right now?

At this immediate moment in time, I’m still in the process of finding a position somewhere in my area of study. Once I finally have a job, I’ll start working to pay off my loan before finding a place of my own. Never again will I have to haunt the halls of a clothing store! Woohoo! As always, I plan to continue my work as an artist. This fandom is an odd one, but I like it anyway, and plan to stay for many more years to come.

My primary goal of being a writer is still the same. Revisions are taking forever, but so far, things are on track. Only time will tell if I meet success or not, and really, I’m not too worried about that, either. I’ll get there eventually.
